Who is Katia?

I have been in Social Work practice for 7 years in the state of Florida. I chose the profession of helping others because I have learned that the creation of our lives drives the inner passion we have and this energy is exalted towards the World we know. People have the power, and the capacity to resolve their own issues. It is here where our efforts are underestimated.

My clinical experience has allowed me to provide counseling and case management services to people with different issues. I have been able to help people who are victims and or survivors of domestic violence, people who deal with chemical dependency, people who are unemployed, people who are victims and or survivors of sexual assault, people who have mental health disorders, people with chronic diseases and medical diagnosis, people adjusting to changes in their lives, people experiencing anxiety, depression, and any other emotional struggle. I am a bilingual therapist, and I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Hypnosis and reality therapy. My focus is always driven by my patient’s needs and desires. I support them throughout the way. I believe that the patient is the expert and that my role as a therapist is to guide or facilitate a plan which help the patient achieve their goals.

I enjoy nature, expending time with my dogs, and exploring new adventures. I believe life is not what we see, but rather how we see it, and I love helping others look at life from a different angle.

Success is not an accident. It takes hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most if all, love for what you are doing.
